There will be medals for runners in a number of age groups for children as well as adult men and women. Tech style race shirts will be guaranteed to all registrants up until the order deadline but we'll order enough to cover a few extra too. And of course, we'll send an email near the t-shirt deadline to all past participants! The event will be a 5k or 5-mile foot race. Athletes have the opportunity to run with OR without a Rucksack.

The Green Mile Loop Challenge is brought to you by North Park Trail Runners. As a local non-profit organization, we love to offer this event at no cost. We are thankful for donations from our members that keep this event running. We accept donations online, in cash form at any of our events, through the purchase of our merch available at this event, and there is a link provided at the top. 6 hours! 1 Loop! The Green Mile loop challenge is designed for runners of all levels and speeds. How may loops can you run? How many do you want to run? After you complete each loop, you will mark a tally mark next to your name. The Green Mile Loop Challenge will take place at its newest location! We will once again run a combination of blazes from Deer Browse 2 Pavilion. We are running the loop counter clockwise! With a slight twist! This pavilion is located near the North Park Swimming Pool parking lot and across from Harmar Shelter. Loop Profile Distance ~ 2 miles Elevation ~ 300 feet per loop Mostly single track. The course is fully shaded! Join us for the loops and delicious lunch provided after. We also have the return of our raffle. Generous donations are coming your way from local run shops, restaurants, race companies and more. Earn a raffle ticket for every loop you complete. Within the allotted time, how may loops of the "green mile" can you run? One loop or 20? It's all good. Awards for high -volume loopers! The event kicks off at 8:00 am and goes until 2:00pm. Come for the full six hours or join us for just a few loops. It's up to you! Some Rules 1. Individuals are eligible to win one raffle prize. No repeat winners on the raffles. 2. Join us on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at North Park Boathouse for the inaugural Patriots 5K, a powerful community event hosted by to honor the lives of our nation's veterans, support military families, and raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. Participants can choose to run, walk, or ruck the scenic 5K course through North Park while standing in solidarity with those who have served and the families who continue to carry their legacy forward. This event is being held in honor of Jerry Ondo, a proud Navy veteran whose life and service continue to inspire others. The Patriots 5K also serves as the launch of Semper Fi Mission's White Star Initiative, which provides scholarships and support to children who have lost a parent to veteran suicide. Olé 5K Benefit Race - Celebrating it's 18th year on October 3rd 2026! All proceeds will go to TASH, Inc, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization started by Fr Scott Seethaler. TASH supports La Clínica del Pueblo Anna Seethaler, a nonprofit hospital, and other partner organizations whose work provides hope and opportunity to Oaxaca’s impoverished and marginalized communities. Virtual Race Option We are giving runners the option to participate virtually. Run with us in October and support our mission. But do so on your own schedule. The HAEE 5K Run/Walk is our main yearly fundraiser. Thanks to our generous sponsors, we have been able to consistently fund new, exciting, and innovative programs in the Hampton Township School District. This year's 5k (3.1 mile) course is at Hampton Community Park. The HAEE 5K race proceeds are used to support innovative and imaginative programs in the Hampton Township School District. HAEE, a volunteer-run non-profit organization, grants thousands of dollars to enrich the educational experience in each of Hampton’s schools, including programs for the advancement of technology in the curriculum, hands-on inventive learning in all academic areas through special programs, and added support for special needs, physical education, and the arts. Crisis Center North's PAWS for Empowerment program welcome you and your pet to participate in the "Paws Against Domestic Violence" Pet Walk event! Let's go for a walk/run! Grab your tennis shoes and a pet, and join us at North Park for a walk on October 24th from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm to kick off Domestic Violence Awareness month! The mission of Crisis Center North is to empower victims of domestic violence and cultivate attitudes and community behaviors that break the cycle of violence. Crisis Center North is a 501(c)(3) non-profit counseling and resource center that provides services to victims of domestic violence and their loved ones in northern and western Allegheny County via counseling, therapy, case management, legal and medical advocacy, and economic empowerment services. The PAWS program has evolved into a highly successful service offering four distinct components, including: assisting and providing emotional support and comfort to victims during trauma-informed counseling/therapy services (i.e., animal assisted therapy);accompanying domestic violence (DV) victims in Allegheny County courtrooms to help them face their perpetrators during Protection From Abuse (PFA) hearings and help find legal recourse;an educational component for local veterinarians and animal service providers designed to address the intersection between animal abuse and IPV; and,emergency animal care stipends for pets of families impacted by DV.

Founded in 2001 to honor Sean T. Smith, who lost his battle with leukemia in 1995, Just A Short Run has helped raise tens of thousands of dollars to benefit local charities working to eradicate leukemia and blood-borne cancers.   In 2025, we recommitted to Sean's legacy, launching a partnership with Cancer Bridges to help people diagnosed with cancer and their families and to support networks that help them navigate their cancer journey.  In 2026, we are proud to continue this partnership! This is a family friendly endurance event for rucking, running, or walking. The event raises money for Folds of Honor Western PA.  https://westernpa.foldsofhonor.org/ Ruckers, Runners, walkers and families are welcome to do a single 4.7 mile loop or as many loops as possible.  Some participants will take on multiple loops over the course of 4 or 6 or 8 hours and a few athletes will stay on course for a full 12 hours.  All loops are ended with excitement and encouragement to see how far people will push together for a great cause. The official rucking guideline is a weighted backpack with 30# for men and 20# for women.  Those doing the single loop are encouraged to challenge themselves and ruck, run, or walk.  Those wishing to do less than official weight or no weight can still complete as many laps as possible if registering for the Multi-loop event price.  Limited registration may be available the day of the event on site, subject to the race director on site on April 11th.  Tshirts,

The South Ridge Trail Challenge is the region's premier early summer trail race and the only ultramarathon in North Park. Come join the Hampton Community in Hampton Community Park (3101 McCully Road, Allison Park, PA.) for the 20th Annual Hampton Rotary Club Firecracker 5K on Saturday, July 4, 2026, 8:30 am, on the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. This is a Hampton tradition and a great Family event. Our challenging 5K run/walk or scenic 1M walk both route Hampton's newly improved Community Park. There's a t-shirt give away and participation medals for both the walk and the run with awards for overall and age group winners by gender. Funds raised from this event support various educational and charitable activities sponsored by the Hampton Rotary Club. We deliver meals on wheels, provide high school and tech school scholarships, and at least on yearly project (like providing fresh dairy to those with food insecurity).
