Join Us for the Wheeling Turkey Trot: 5K Run/Walk & Children's Fun Run! Get ready to kick off your Thanksgiving celebrations with a spirited community event that supports the Wheeling Parks and Recreation mission: "to build healthy communities through people, parks, and programs.” Event Details: Date: Thursday, November 26thLocation: Alma Grace McDonough Center, Wheeling University Campus Schedule: 7:00 AM: Packet pickup and registration open at the McDonough Center8:30 AM: Children’s Fun Run8:30 AM: Packet pickup and registration close8:45 AM: Begin to line up at the start9:00 AM: 5K Run and Walk10:00 AM: Awards Exciting Extras: Participants in the 5K will have a chance to win fantastic prizes in a random drawing. - After the race, enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments inside the McDonough Center, where you can mingle with fellow participants and celebrate your accomplishments.Long sleeve t-shirts are guaranteed for participants of the 5K who register by November 15th. Be sure to register early to claim your shirt! Virtual Participation: Can’t join us in person? No problem! Sign up as a "Pardoned Turkey" to participate virtually and secure a stylish event T-shirt. Your T-shirt will be available for pickup at packet pick-up, on race day at the McDonough Center, or at the Parks and Recreation office starting December 1st. Award Ceremony: Celebrate your achievements at our awards ceremony, held immediately after the race inside the McDonough Center. Packet Pick-Up Information: Early Packet Pick-Up (Recommended): Pick up your race packet at the Parks and Recreation Office located at 56 19th Street, Wheeling, WV 26003 on the following dates: Tuesday, November 24th 12 PM – 7 PMWednesday, November 25th 9 AM – 1 PM Day of Race Registration: Registration and packet pick-up will also be available at the McDonough Center from 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM on race day.
