The Marathon High Virtual Half-Marathon benefits Marathon High, a free 16-week running and mentoring program empowering high school students across Northeast Florida to build confidence, resilience, healthy habits, and a sense of belonging. Many Marathon High students don’t consider themselves runners, or even athletes, when they join us. But with the encouragement of dedicated coaches, adult running buddies, and teammates, they take on a goal that once may have seemed impossible: completing a half marathon. Along the way, they learn that the finish line is about so much more than 13.1 miles. They learn to persevere when things get hard, set and work toward goals, support one another, and believe in themselves. Marathon High is provided completely free to students and their families.
