Roots & Heritage 3K Powered by Lexington African-American Sports Hall of Fame

Join us for our 3rd annual race event - a celebration of freedom, community, and unity! This year’s Roots & Heritage 3K is more than a race—it is a space for our community to come together, heal, wrap our arms around our youth, and reclaim our streets in peace and solidarity. In light of recent events in the East End, we are dedicating this year’s starting line at The Historic Lyric Theatre to peace, youth protection, and honoring our young people. Whether you run for a personal best, walk with your family, or stand with us in solidarity, your presence matters. Every stride supports local Black student-athlete scholarships and youth program support, proving that when our community stands together, hope lives. Packet Pickup: Friday, September 11, 5-7 p.m. at Charles Young Center Parking Lot 3K Race: Saturday, September 12, 2026 Location: The Historic Lyric Theatre Time: 8:00 AM Race Start with a dedicated moment of silence (Finish before the Roots & Heritage Parade) Pricing: Adults - $35; Children 2-17 - $10 Special Pricing: Teams of 5-10 register at $25 each Teams of 11+ register at $20 each with automatic discount Come as a registered runner or walk in solidarity for a morning of unity and purpose through Lexington's historic east end. Walk in honor of a person or write a custom message of hope on our commemorative race bibs.
