Founded in 1982 by the late Robert J. Aaron.   CELEBRATING 45 YEARS....... Long considered one of the east end season openers, the RJA Memorial is one of the longest, continuous triathlons on Long Island!  We will be celebrating our 45th anniversary this year.  Since Robert's death in 2002, the race has been used as a fund raiser for pancreatic Cancer Research, supporting the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer. The  Olympic race consists of a 1-mile swim, 20-mile bike and 6.2 miles run. The Aquabike consists of the 1-mile swim and 20-mile bike. The recently added Sprint triathlon consists of a 1/2-mile swim, 14-mile bike and 3.8-mile run. The Olympic race/Aquabike  goes off at 7:30am and the Sprint follows at approximately 8 am.
