Welcome to the Platte River Trail 36 Hour race in Casper, Wyoming. Format: Fat ass, self-support only, no fee. Course: UPDATE ON 2026/9/3 - IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ. Due to trail construction, the race course has been revised to the following. Start and finish: Tate Pumphouse (1775 W 1st St, Casper, WY 82604). Course: Option 1: Run eastward on the Platte River Trail, turn around after 0.5 mile at Amoco Park, and follow the same trail back to Tate Pumphouse. Google Maps link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/5R9tTjFmRRvoAUdPAOption 2: Run across the footbridge and then westward on the Platte River Trail, turn around after 1 mile at First Street Park, and follow the same trail back to Tate Pumphouse. Google Maps link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/47X7pEUjtHmn8vai9Both options are available during the race, so you can run either at any given point in time, provided you track your distance and time. For those who attempt 100 miles, there are many options by mixing the two course options above (e.g. Option 1 100 times, Option 2 50 times, Option 1 50 times plus Option 2 25 times, etc.). Course surface is concrete. Please be prepared. Start at Tate Pumphouse (1775 W 1st St, Casper, WY 82604), run eastward on the Platte River Trail, turn around after 1.5 miles at Best Western Downtown (123 W E Street, Casper, WY 82601), and follow the same trail back to Tate Pumphouse. For those who attempt 100 miles, after running the 3-mile out-and-back course 33 times, an optional 1-mile out-and-back course is available on the same trail, with the turnaround at Amoco Park (1007 W 1st St, Casper, WY 82604). Time: 36 hours, from 6pm Mountain Time on Sep 25 to 6am Mountain Time on Sep 27. Size limit: 10. Race rules: Runners must register by September 22 at runsignup.com.Runners must be at least 18 years of age and sign the waiver during registration.Runners can start anytime after the official race start time. For early starts, please check with the race director.Runners can finish anytime before the official race end time, after which runners must be off course.When runners temporarily leave the course in the middle of a loop, they must reenter the race at the same spot and continue in the same direction.When runners finish a loop at Tate Pumphouse, they can run either course option (above) in the next loop, regardless of which loop they just finished.Runners must provide their own supplies throughout the race, including yet not limited to, water, sports drink, snacks, and food.Runners should be prepared to track their exact distance and elapsed time using a commonly used device (e.g. Apple Watch, Garmin) or application (e.g. Strava, Garmin, Apple Health), and show them to the race director after finishing.Parking is at Tate Pumphouse.Two porta-potties are available at Tate Pumphouse.Littering will result in automatic disqualification.
