The Madison Triathlon is an Olympic-distance triathlon with a net descent of 660 feet. Athletes begin the event in the Madison River-fed Ennis Lake, followed by a bike leg that takes them up and over Norris Hill (more like a mountain with an 800-foot climb). The final 10-kilometer run features a gradual, gut-checking uphill test to the finish line at the famous Pony Bar. Unlike other GYAS races, this triathlon course is 93% paved, and the gravel that does exist is well-packed. The inaugural year was 2012. The course is public on Garmin: https://connect.garmin.com/app/course/512587601 Prizes are awarded to the first and second place male and female finishers. Please stay for the after-party at the Pony Bar: https://montanaponybar.com/
