The Kevin Peck Memorial Run was established in honor of Kevin Peck, a 1998 graduate of Northwest High School who was tragically killed in December of 2011.  Kevin was a state qualifying track and cross country runner.  His untimely death was a tragedy to all who knew him.  In his memory, the Kevin Peck Perseverance Award Scholarship was created. Kevin often lamented that the hardest step of running was the first.  He held the belief that hard work would pay off, and once he got going, eventually he would reach his goal if he kept working. The Kevin Peck Perseverance Award is presented to a Northwest High School Cross Country or Distance Track senior athlete whose performance dramatically improved from their first season running through their last.  This does not necessarily mean the fastest runner or MVP.  It is the athlete who reflects the determination, focus and drive that Kevin had to persevere, and become the outstanding runner that he was.  To help support this award and the Nort
