Friend of the Poor 5k

Join us for the 4th Annual Friend of the Poor 5K Run/Walk! Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 21st, and join us at West High School for a fun and meaningful race day! This family-friendly event features a 5K run/walk and a 1-mile fun walk, perfect for participants of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a great way to spend the morning, we invite you to be part of this exciting, timed, and qualifying race. Check-in begins at 7 AM, and the race kicks off at 8 AM—see you there! This event is hosted by the Philoptochos Society of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, a philanthropic organization with a rich history of serving those in need. Locally, Philoptochos supports vital Knoxville charities, including the FISH Hospitality Pantries, InterFaith Health Clinic, and Mobile Meals, among others. Proceeds from the race enable us to continue these efforts, offering assistance to the poor, sick, elderly, and those in need of a helping hand. Philo
