34th Annual Firecracker 5K

Join us for Highlands County's second largest race of the year ---- The 34th Annual Firecracker 5k! To be held on Sunday, July 4th. at the Highlands Hammock State Park. This race is put on by our beloved Chet Brojek to raise funds in support of the running program at Avon Park Highschool. We would like to recognize Mrs. Ruth Handley who passed away 6/24/26. She assisted Chet in forming the running programs at Avon Park Highschool and laid the foundation for what is has become today.   Race Day Schedule: 6:30 am - Packet Pickup 6:45 am to 7:45 am - Day of Registration 8:00 am - Horn Start 9:15 am - Awards   Shirts Guaranteed if signed up by June 20th 2027.
