25th Anniversary September 11, 2001 - 9.11-mile Remembrance Run/ 1- mile Family Reflection Walk

Join us on Saturday 9/12/2026 at the Waveland, MS Lighthouse for the 25th Anniversary 9.11-mile Remembrance Run, a powerful event honoring our heroes and supporting local first responder/veteran charities. This special run offers a challenging 9.11-mile course, a Two-Person Relay, and an 1-mile Family Fun Walk for all ages. Come in your best Red, White, and Blue, lace up your shoes and be a part of this meaningful fundraiser that directly benefits the organizations dedicated to serving our community. Here are some details to make your run/walk a pleasurable experience: Check-in: Open at 6:15am – 7am at the Waveland Lighthouse. Every participant must check-in to receive their run/walk bib. Parking: It is preferred to park on Coleman Ave and Terrace Ave, as parking at the Waveland Lighthouse will be limited with Check-in, start/finish line, and EMS occupying much of the spots. Event Day Itinerary: - 7:00 am: Announcements - 7:10 am: 9.11.01 Observance, Invocation, National Anthem - 7:15 am: 9.11 mile Run start - 7:30 am: 1-mile Walk start - 8:00 am: Participant finish line refreshments open - 12:00 pm: 25th Anniversary 9.11.01 wrap up Note: This is not a timed race event, therefore, no podium presentations. Additionally, once you cross the finish line, you are free to enjoy some refreshments, mingle with your fellow patriotic community members, and depart back home at your leisure. Weather: If inclement weather becomes an issue, Event Director will make the decision to either cancel and reschedule (preferrable the night before), postpone/delay for weather to pass, and if lighting is close by while participants are on the course, every attempt to either shelter participants in place or pull them off the course for safety.
